For Uncle Ryan…

As many of you know, Casey and I LOVE blocks.  As children, our primary toys were blocks.  I loved building things, and Casey loved staying in his room building skyscrapers with anything that he could stack, so Mama Smith tells me.  Now, anything that has to do with blocks is expensive! I’m talking $50 or $70 for a set!  Imagine my excitement when I strolled over to a garage sale down the street to find an awesome FIRE TRUCK! That’s right Uncle Ryan, we have a fire truck.  Taylor is finally getting big enough, and coordinated enough, to climb on and play with the blocks inside. Oh, and I forgot to tell you, I only paid $7.

Hope you enjoy!

An end to summer…

Well, this was our last weekend of summer!!  I am partially sad, because I LOVE the warm weather, but also excited because fall is wonderful here.  I am super stoked to take Taylor to see the fall colors in Banning.  And who can not LOVE Halloween?! I am so excited to dress Taylor up! His costume will be AMAZING, the cutest thing I have ever seen! A couple of things that are going on with us…

As many of you know, Taylor has to have surgery on October 14th, just one day before he turns 10 months.  We noticed a cyst on his collar bone and the pediatric ENT decided we are better off taking it out.  I, of course, started freaking out when I heard him say this.  I am trying to stay calm, as it is still 1 month away.  I am sure that I will be a nervous wreck the night before and the day of!  He will need to be put under, but it is an outpatient so he will be able to sleep with us in his own bed that night.

Taylor is a crawling machine!  He loves to crawl, and crawl fast.  He has mastered the step in our living room, which is awesome since we do not need to purchase an obnoxiously long gate.  On a side note, he has officially earned his first skinned knee.  Casey and I went to play tennis yesterday and let Taylor crawl about the court.  Well, apparently he dragged his right knee a bit because this morning it was all red and his skin was gone!  It looks like it is trying to scab a bit, and I will be sure to post a picture of it when I take it with the camera.  One funny result is what we like to call the “limp crawl.” Leave it to a Smith to create this move up.  He decided to favor his knee a bit, since I put some Vaseline and a band-aid to keep it clean.  So, he keeps his right leg straight and pushes off his foot, while he crawls on his left knee! HILARIOUS!  I have a small picture on facebook for those of you who still have one.

That is about all that is going on in our life recently…

Hope this finds everyone well in all other parts of the country!

Until next time…

Ramndomness….

I noticed that I haven’t updated people with pictures of my little man!  So much has happened in these last couple months.  He is trying to walk, loves standing and crawling to a stand.  I just want to cherish these moments forever, and I’m glad that we have pictures to cherish these moments! I hope that you enjoy his little personality as much as we do!
